Overview
Rock Terra Tech led an integrated slope stability program for a large open-pit mine, combining field mapping, laboratory testing, limit-equilibrium screening, and 3DEC discontinuum review.
The work supported staged mining plans with calibrated material models, operational trigger levels for crest movement, and a design report accepted by mine planning and geotechnical governance teams.

Slope assessment overview
Modelling stages, acceptance criteria, and operational triggers.
Challenges
- Weak rock mass along the pit crest
- Seasonal groundwater rise
- Blast vibration near final walls
Outcomes & solutions
- Calibrated geotechnical model for staged mining
- Operational trigger levels for crest movement
- Design report accepted by mine planning
